Angela's first fish

This past Friday we went to the family property and did some hiking. We love the cool stroller and how easy it is to hike with, it takes rocks easily. Angela also got her first fish... well really it was her fourth fish by the time we could get a picture taken. Some of her cousins were there and she really likes to watch them run around and play. She is anxious for when she can join them. Angela likes being outside with all the colors and sounds.

Don't have a Cow

Every year we typically take a trip to California to visit Lorena's family and see Mickey Mouse at Disneyland. In California Adventure they use to have this game on the boardwalk where you toss a softball into a milk can. The prizes were these giant farm animals and Lorena had to have one - well, she got 2 cows, 2 pigs, and 1 duck. Why? Because Blake got incredibly good at it. At one point he got it on the first ball, and the second and third. But then they pointed out that you can only win once per day - bummer. We brought one of the cows upstairs and Angela loves it. We must admit, it makes a great pillow too.

Angela's First Ducks

Tonight we took a walk to the river bottom. It is a nice walkway and we had a good time. There are lots of ducks there and Angela loved to see them - next time we'll have to take some crackers or bread crumbs.

Angela turns 1-year

Angela turned one on June 14. We had a big party for her. All the family came - that's about 30 alone. Then when the neighbor kids found out they came over. Angela had a good time with all her new friends. We all sang happy birthday to her and let her go "at it" with a cup cake. She played and played in it, but didn't know what else to do, we couldn't even get her to taste it - boy did she miss out. She just looked at the mess on her hands with a look of "now what?" She definitely was the life of the party - so charming and adorable.

Osa and Jake meet Angela

this morning is a great morning here. The sun is shinning and there's a slight breeze - the kind of Spring day that is wonderful to enjoy before the heat of Summer arrives. Angela had met the dogs before but today we decided to see if we could get some pictures. We have to introduce Jake and Osa separately because they are just so excited to have a little one to play with. They are gentle with her as she touches their noses and pets them.

Angie's clicks

The other day Blake taugh Angela how to click her tongue. Here is a video of her clicking her tongue while playing on the floor.

Angela Day 3

This morning Blake went into work to finish up some stuff from Friday then he will be home the rest of the week. So we took the opportunity to visit him at the office. She enjoyed the car ride - talking all the way up there, and then making the cutest faces at people. Some of them she let touch her, others no. But Blake was able to keep her happy. That was our first excursion out, and it wasn't too bad. No more just picking up the keys and leaving, I have to remember, do we have diapers, a bottle, toys?? hahaha - you know the feeling. We knew this is what it would be like, but I guess it never sinks in until you really have to do it. But we are having fun and love her so much!!

Day 2

Today is Sunday and it is the second full day of having Angie in our home. What an experience! We love her so much and wonder what we did without her. We are grateful she sleeps all night long, not waking until 7:30 or 8:00 AM - no mother could be more proud! She also likes long naps - which gives me time to do things like this.

She likes to look at books, feel different textures, go outside and play with the dogs.

We welcomed Angela to our home June 6, 2008. We are very grateful to her birth mom and family for their endearing love & sacrifice. She has brought us so much joy to our home. It's been fun to realize this change in our lives. We are looking forward to her 1-year birthday June 14.
